I've been making adoption ads for some time. I love showcasing a pet's unique qualities and helping them find forever homes. I've done Golden Girls themes to pretend dating profiles. Many of my ideas come to me in the strangest places, like the Target parking lot, driving or showering.

I created the concepts, shot the photos, wrote copy, and designed every one of these ads. They definitely get a better response than photos alone, so I try to save my graphic design powers for the pets who've been at the shelter or in rescue for longer periods of time.

If someone has a specific request, I usually try to work them in. The shy pets who might not get as much attention from prospective adopters can really benefit from special graphics, as well as a large group of pets with visually similar appearances. When there's an influx of puppies or more black and white pets than anything else, that's a fantastic time to make graphics to promote adoptions for those dogs and cats.
